I wasn’t so sure about buying a Korean SUV but then I took a test drive of the 2014 Hyundai Tucson on a friend’s suggestion and it won my vote. The first highlight is the affordable price of AED 75,000. Secondly, my Tucson gives me an excellent fuel mileage as it consumes about 8.7L/100 kilometers. I was surprised to find Bluetooth connectivity which allows me to easily stream music while driving. The cabin is roomy but most of the material is plastic and does not really seem luxurious. Nevertheless, it’s comfortable and has 730 liters of boot space, thus I never have to think twice before packing my luggage for vacations or traveling out of town. The drive is also smooth and relaxing, but I wouldn’t suggest Tucson for speeding on the highways.

It’s not wise to spend more than AED100,000 for a family sedan when you have the 2014 Hyundai Sonata for just AED 69,900. My Sonata features everything I adore in a family sedan such as a roomy interior, an 8-inch infotainment display, leather seating and improved safety equipment like tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, advanced airbag system, electronic brake distribution and more. The 2.4L powertrain produces 175 horsepower and is amazing in terms of fuel consumption as it takes only 8L for every 100 kilometers. Highly recommended for the families!

I bought my 2014 Hyundai Veloster wearing Marathon Blue paint about a couple of years ago and it has become my best companion since then. It features a spectacular 1.6L powertrain paired with 6 speed manual gearbox which is good to deliver 5.9L/100 KM fuel economy. I absolutely love the exterior design specifically its aggressive front grille and distinct fast back style. The interior is sporty and extends comfortable leather seats. For music lover like me, the 7-speaker sound and 7-inch touch display system along with AUX input and USB port is a heaven on earth. It also has a rear view camera to aid in parking. It costed me AED 67,900 and I believe it is not expensive at all considering the facilities it has on offer.

Do not believe people telling you that luxury cars only come from the German automakers, I have been driving the 2014 Hyundai Centennial for a long time now and it has surpassed my expectations. The Centennial packs everything a luxury car must have, which includes 9.2-inch dual monitors for back seats, Haptic Steering Wheel, 7 inch TFT display, blind spot detection system and much more. The powertrain is 5.0 Liter V8 engine that delivers stunning performance and consumes around 12.3L to cover a distance of 100 kilometers. The Hyundai Centennial 2014 costed me AED 260,000. It may look expensive to you, but when you compare it with BMW, Audi and Mercedes, it is a lot cheaper.

Surely, there are a lot of options in the SUV segment, but none matches to Nissan Qashqai. Although priced at just AED 106,400, it boasts an exterior design of a luxury car. It is compact and I never had problems parking it anywhere. The interior is roomy and quiet. The boot space of 410 liters enables it to carry loads of stuff. Another commendable thing is the fuel economy; it consumes about 8.3L to cover 100 kilometers and also it is not a hard vehicle to maintain. I would definitely recommend the Nissan Qashqai to anyone looking to buy an economical SUV.
